We usually love Dingsway and have eaten there numerous times. However the last two times it has not been good. We were given a chicken tan tan ramen instead of pork. The chicken was bland and looked like processed chicken that came from meat glue. The fried noodles were flavorless and barely had any vegetables (which feature in the menu). Basically the dish was inedible. The menu said there was supposed to be carrot - there was one piece of grated carrot! The chicken was bland and was obviously processed. It was so disappointing. I like to support local neighborhood restaurants but this last experience was really not good. I am so sorry to say this, and don’t like giving negative feedback but I feel like you should know that it was not good at all. I would never go on Google or anything as I don’t want to be giving a public negative review, but I hope it can get back to where it used to be.

Having reviewed previous comments both positive and negative we decided to take a chance… being across the street from the Solara Lodge factored in but definitely kept our expectations low. We ordered the shrimp tempura as a starter, with my husband ordering the beef hot pot and I ordered tofu. The vegetarian was beyond bland and uninspiring. The tempura was good but served before the meal.
Keep your expectations low and you’ll enjoy the experience.

The Tempura Ramen was delicious! Perfect amount of spice
The Vegetable Ramen was a real disappointment with only corn as the vegetable. We will not be ordering again unfortunately because of there being no vegetables in it for a vegetarian and will seek other Ramen locations in Canmore.

Food was good but perhaps a little overpriced for the amount received. Sauces for gyoza and tempura were very non descript and watery. Rolls were fresh and flavourful. Edamame had zero seasoning - would've liked a bit of salt. Overall decent meal.

Ding Sway delivers one of the most memorable sushi experiences.
The sushi itself, impressive. The fish is incredibly fresh, sliced with care, and served with just the right balance of rice and seasoning. The nigiri was a standout — buttery, rich, and practically melted on contact. The specialty rolls are creative without being over-complicated, and everything tasted clean and balanced.
Service was attentive but not pushy — the staff clearly knows the menu and makes thoughtful recommendations. The chef even came out to say hi, which was a nice personal touch.
Whether you’re a sushi traditionalist or someone who loves trying new twists, Ding Sway nails it. It’s not just hype — this place earns every bit of the praise.
